旅先で思い出す、日本の春 ― Tokyo Leaves「SAKURA」が生む小さな対話

Remembering Spring in Japan — A Conversation Inspired by SAKURA

Spring in Japan does not arrive all at once.
It gathers — in the softened edge of the wind, in the faint warmth of morning light, in a fragrance that seems to appear before the blossoms themselves.
It is often when we travel that we become most aware of home. In unfamiliar streets and shared tables, we find ourselves recalling our own seasons. And when one speaks of spring in Japan, there is one image that rises effortlessly: cherry blossoms.

SAKURA was created to hold that feeling in a cup. Entirely free from artificial flavoring or additives, it carries a natural sakura-like aroma derived from coumarin — a fragrant compound also present in cherry leaves. The impression is soft and rounded, reminiscent of sakuramochi, yet unmistakably tea. Because it is naturally occurring, the fragrance feels integrated rather than added — gentle, atmospheric, and quietly evocative. When hot water meets the leaves, the liquor settles into a clear, luminous green — the color of early spring. The aroma opens first. Then a light, graceful impression follows, leaving a clean and refreshing finish. It is not sweet in the confectionery sense, but softly aromatic — like the memory of blossoms carried on cool air.

Present, yet restrained.
Expressive, yet composed.

A Cup That Opens a Conversation

Travel creates proximity — a neighboring seat, a lounge overlooking the harbor, a shared moment on a ship’s deck.

And sometimes, it begins with fragrance.

“That smells lovely.”
“What tea is that?”

From there, the exchange unfolds — about cherry blossom season, about hanami beneath blooming trees, about seasonal sweets wrapped in salted leaves. Away from Japan, these stories feel even more vivid. SAKURA was designed not only to be enjoyed, but to invite connection — a quiet bridge between cultures, between journeys.

Freedom in Form

Unusual for Japanese tea, SAKURA is presented in a drip-style format.

No teapot required. No special preparation needed. Just a cup and hot water. The simplicity is intentional — preserving the integrity of fine tea while allowing the ease that travel calls for.T o gift SAKURA is to offer more than flavor. It is to offer a glimpse of a season.
